Best College Soccer ID Camps in Texas 2026
The Texas college soccer ID camps families ask us about most — ranked by division level, upcoming dates, parent reviews, and value. Updated weekly.
Texas is one of the deepest college soccer states in the country, and also one of the hardest to plan well because the geography is enormous. A family in Houston has a very different camp trip than a family in El Paso or the Panhandle. We built this page to help families separate true recruiting opportunities from generic camp listings, with a Texas-specific lens on level, region, and travel cost.
Texas is the largest college soccer recruiting state outside the coasts — UT Austin, Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, Baylor, Houston, and 40+ D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO programs spread across one of the most travel-friendly states in the country. The recruiting calendar runs hot from late May through early August. We track every ID camp, showcase, and combine across the state so families can compare options in one place instead of piecing together school pages one by one.
Why families trust this page
IDCampFinder is run by a coach-founder (John Hull) and edited the way a soccer parent would actually want it: which staff is there, what level is realistic, how far is worth driving, and whether the price matches the exposure. Texas is the state we know best — most early IDCampFinder content was built around it.
How we rank camps
Our Texas list weights upcoming dates, credible college-program ties, division context, cost transparency, and family review data where it exists. We don't sell ranking position, and we don't claim staff attendance we can't verify.
Founder perspective
John Hull built IDCampFinder after seeing how hard it was for recruiting families to compare camp options quickly and honestly. The goal is simple: clearer camp info, less wasted money, and fewer blind registrations.

Top Soccer Programs in Texas by Division
Division I: Texas runs one of the deepest D1 footprints in the country. UT Austin (SEC), Texas A&M (SEC), and Houston (Big 12) anchor the top tier. SMU (ACC) and TCU (Big 12) are perennial recruits-friendly programs with strong staff continuity. Baylor (Big 12) has invested heavily in women's soccer. The Big 12 mid-majors — Texas Tech, North Texas, Rice (American), and UTSA (American) — are realistic D1 fits for many in-state families. Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, Texas State, Abilene Christian, and UTRGV add Southland and WAC depth across the state.
Division II: The Lone Star Conference is one of the strongest D2 leagues in the country. St. Edward's (Austin), St. Mary's (San Antonio), Dallas Baptist, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-International, UT Permian Basin, UT Tyler, Lubbock Christian, West Texas A&M, Angelo State, Tarleton, and Midwestern State all compete at a competitive D2 level with athletic scholarship opportunities. The LSC is well-known for producing players who transfer up to D1 or sign professionally.
Division III: Trinity University (San Antonio) is the state's flagship D3 — elite academics, consistently nationally ranked, and a strong fit for high-academic recruits. The SCAC adds Southwestern University (Georgetown), Schreiner (Kerrville), University of Dallas, Austin College (Sherman), Centenary of Louisiana (just over the border), and Texas Lutheran (Seguin). The ASC (American Southwest Conference) adds Concordia Texas, East Texas Baptist, Hardin-Simmons, Howard Payne, LeTourneau, McMurry, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Ozarks, Sul Ross State, and Texas-Dallas.
NAIA: Houston Baptist (now Houston Christian, transitioned to D1), Wayland Baptist, Texas Wesleyan, Our Lady of the Lake, Jarvis Christian, Huston-Tillotson, Texas College, and Southwestern Assemblies of God offer NAIA pathways across the state with scholarship flexibility.
JUCO (NJCAA): Texas has one of the deepest JUCO scenes in the country — Tyler JC, Eastfield, Cedar Valley, North Lake, Mountain View, Brookhaven, Richland, El Paso CC, Western Texas, South Plains, and Coastal Bend all compete in NJCAA conferences. JUCO is a real D1/D2 bridge for Texas families.
Texas Recruiting Regions
Austin–San Antonio corridor (I-35 South): UT Austin and Texas A&M-San Antonio bracket this region; St. Edward's (D2 Austin), Trinity (D3 San Antonio), St. Mary's (D2 San Antonio), Concordia Texas, Schreiner, and Southwestern (Georgetown) all sit within 90 minutes. The most efficient single-trip recruiting loop in Texas — three days can cover four to six programs across every division.
Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW): SMU, TCU, North Texas, Dallas Baptist, Texas A&M-Commerce, UT Dallas, University of Dallas, and Texas Wesleyan all sit within 45 minutes of DFW airport. The most program-dense metro in the state and an easy fly-in for out-of-state families.
Houston metro: Houston (Big 12) is the anchor, with Rice (American), Houston Christian, and St. Thomas (D3) nearby. Sam Houston State and Lamar are within 90 minutes north and east. Houston is the most economical Texas city to fly into and the closest cluster to Louisiana D1 programs (LSU is a 4.5-hour drive from Houston).
Waco / Central Texas: Baylor (Big 12) is the flagship in Waco; Texas Lutheran, Texas A&M-Central Texas, and McMurry are within driving distance. A natural midpoint between DFW and Austin trips.
West Texas (Lubbock, Abilene, Midland, El Paso): Texas Tech (Big 12) anchors Lubbock; Abilene Christian (WAC), Hardin-Simmons (D3 Abilene), McMurry (D3), Angelo State (D2 San Angelo), Lubbock Christian (D2), and UT Permian Basin (D2 Odessa) form a West Texas circuit. UTEP and UT Permian Basin serve far West Texas. Less crowded camps but real driving distances between schools.
Rio Grande Valley & South Texas: UTRGV (WAC) and Texas A&M International (D2 Laredo) anchor the Rio Grande Valley. Often overlooked by out-of-state families but offers strong D1 women's soccer at UTRGV with regional recruiting reach into Mexico.
How Much Do ID Camps Cost in Texas?
Texas camp pricing reflects the state's program depth. SEC and Big 12 D1 residential camps (UT Austin, Texas A&M, Baylor, Houston, Texas Tech) run $400–$800 for multi-day sessions including housing. Day camps at the same programs run $200–$400. SMU and TCU camps run $300–$500 depending on session length. Mid-major D1 camps (North Texas, Rice, UTSA, Sam Houston, Texas State, UTRGV) are accessible at $175–$350. Lone Star Conference D2 camps are strong value at $125–$275 per day. SCAC D3 clinics (Trinity, Southwestern, Schreiner) run $100–$225. NAIA programs typically run $75–$200. JUCO camps are often $50–$150 and underrated as a D1/D2 transfer pipeline. Budget tip: Texas is a flyover-friendly state — Houston (IAH/HOU), Dallas (DFW/DAL), Austin (AUS), and San Antonio (SAT) all have cheap nonstop flights from most major cities. Many families fly into Austin and base a trip around the I-35 corridor; others fly into DFW and hit the metroplex programs over a long weekend.
Best Time to Attend ID Camps in Texas
Texas camps run late May through early August, with June and early July being peak season. UT Austin, Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, and Baylor camps open registration in January–February and competitive sessions can fill quickly — register early, especially for women's programs. Big 12 and SEC mid-major camps (Houston, Texas Tech, UTSA) run through June and July with more availability. Lone Star Conference D2 camps often extend into late July and August. Heat is a serious factor in July and August across the southern and central parts of the state — programs schedule early-morning and evening sessions to manage temperatures that frequently exceed 100°F. Pro tip: Austin–San Antonio is the single most efficient recruiting trip in Texas — UT Austin, Texas State, St. Edward's, Trinity, St. Mary's, and Southwestern (Georgetown) are all within 90 minutes. A DFW circuit (SMU → TCU → North Texas → Dallas Baptist) is a similarly efficient multi-camp trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are the best college soccer ID camps in Texas for 2026?
- The top-rated college soccer ID camps in Texas include camps from Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, and more. See our full ranked list above, sorted by division level, upcoming dates, cost, and parent reviews.
- How do I choose the right ID camp in Texas?
- Consider your recruiting level (D1 vs D3), budget, travel distance, and whether the head coach attends. Read parent reviews to learn which camps provide genuine recruiting exposure vs. large-group clinics with minimal coach interaction.
- Are third-party ID camps worth it?
- Third-party camps like Future 500, ID Sports USA, and College Soccer Prospect ID bring coaches from multiple schools to one location. They're efficient if you're exploring options across divisions. School-specific camps are better if you're targeting a particular program.
- How much do soccer ID camps in Texas cost?
- Costs vary widely. Single-day clinics start around $125-$200. Multi-day residential camps at D1 programs can run $400-$800. Multi-school showcases typically cost $200-$400. Check individual camp listings for current pricing.
- Which Texas universities don't have men's varsity soccer?
- Several headline Texas D1 schools — including UT Austin, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Baylor — do not field men's varsity soccer. Their D1 soccer programs are women's-only. Texas D1 men's soccer is concentrated at SMU (ACC), Houston (Big 12), and a smaller mid-major footprint. For D1 men's, families often look to Houston Christian, SMU, Sam Houston, UTRGV, UIW (Incarnate Word), and out-of-state Big 12/SEC men's programs in neighboring states.
- What youth clubs in Texas produce the most college players?
- Texas has one of the deepest youth pipelines in the country across ECNL, MLS NEXT, and Girls Academy. Top clubs include Solar SC, Lonestar SC, Sting Soccer Club, Dallas Texans, Houston Dynamo Academy, Houston Dash Academy, FC Dallas Academy, Albion Hurricanes (Houston), Texans SC, and Classics Elite Soccer Academy. Texas A&M, UT Austin, and SMU rosters are built heavily on Texas ECNL and Girls Academy talent.
