Best College Soccer ID Camps in Ohio 2026
The Ohio college soccer ID camps families ask us about most — ranked by division level, upcoming dates, parent reviews, and value. Updated weekly.
Ohio is the Midwest's soccer anchor, home to the University of Akron (a perennial D1 powerhouse), Ohio State, and Columbus — the original MLS soccer city. The state's central location makes it a crossroads for recruiting. We track every ID camp, showcase, and combine across the state so you don't have to check dozens of school websites. Here are the best upcoming options, ranked by division, date, and value.
Why families trust this page
IDCampFinder is independently run and built to help families compare camps using practical recruiting context, not ad copy from registration pages.
How we rank camps
Rankings combine division level, upcoming dates, visible pricing, and review data when available. This is an editorial list, not a paid placement.
Founder perspective
John Hull built IDCampFinder after seeing how hard it was for recruiting families to compare camp options quickly and honestly. The goal is simple: clearer camp info, less wasted money, and fewer blind registrations.

Top Soccer Programs in Ohio by Division
Division I: Ohio State (Big Ten) is the largest program with massive resources and national recruiting reach. The University of Akron men's soccer is a perennial powerhouse — they've produced more MLS draft picks than nearly any program in the country. Cincinnati (Big 12) has invested heavily in soccer since moving up from the AAC. Xavier and Dayton (both in the Atlantic 10) are strong mid-majors with excellent coaching staffs. Bowling Green, Cleveland State, and Wright State offer additional D1 options. The MAC conference (Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio) is one of the most competitive mid-major leagues in men's soccer.
Division II: The GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and G-MAC (Great Midwest Athletic Conference) house Ohio's D2 programs. Tiffin, Findlay, Walsh, and Cedarville are competitive options with athletic scholarship opportunities. Ohio Dominican and Ashland also field strong squads.
Division III: Ohio has an excellent D3 scene. The OAC (Ohio Athletic Conference) is one of the oldest athletic conferences in the country. Ohio Wesleyan has been a D3 national power for decades. Kenyon, Oberlin, Denison, Case Western Reserve, and John Carroll are strong academic-athletic fits. The NCAC (North Coast Athletic Conference) is particularly prestigious.
NAIA: Malone, Mount Vernon Nazarene, and Rio Grande compete in NAIA with scholarship flexibility and smaller roster environments.
Ohio Recruiting Regions
Columbus Metro: Ohio State is the anchor, but Columbus is also home to the Columbus Crew (MLS original), creating a deep soccer culture. Ohio Dominican (D2), Capital, and Otterbein (D3) are nearby. Columbus hosts the annual CSPID College Showcase in Westerville, one of the largest in the Midwest.
Northeast Ohio (Cleveland-Akron): The University of Akron is the crown jewel for men's recruiting. Cleveland State, John Carroll, Case Western Reserve, and Baldwin Wallace form a dense camp cluster. Cleveland hosts regional showcases and has strong youth clubs (Cleveland Force, Ohio Elite SA).
Cincinnati-Dayton Corridor: Cincinnati (Big 12) and Xavier (A-10) anchor the southwest. Dayton is 45 minutes north. Wright State and Cedarville are nearby. This corridor is efficient for families — hit 3–4 camps in a long weekend.
Small-Town Ohio (Delaware, Gambier, Granville, Wooster): Ohio Wesleyan, Kenyon, Denison, and College of Wooster offer idyllic D3 experiences. These camps are smaller and more personalized — your athlete won't get lost in a crowd of 200 players.
How Much Do ID Camps Cost in Ohio?
Ohio camps are among the most affordable in the country. D1 residential camps (Ohio State, Akron, Cincinnati) run $300–$550 including housing and meals — significantly cheaper than East Coast equivalents. D1 day camps cost $150–$275. D3 clinics are excellent value at $75–$150 per day. Xavier and Dayton ID camps typically run $175–$250. The CSPID Columbus Showcase brings 60+ college coaches for about $300–$400 per player. Budget tip: Ohio's low cost of living extends to camp travel — hotels, meals, and gas are 30–40% cheaper than comparable trips to the Northeast. An Ohio camp trip gives you more exposure per dollar than almost any other state.
Best Time to Attend ID Camps in Ohio
Ohio ID camp season runs June through early August. Ohio State and Akron camps are in June — register by March as Akron men's camps sell out every year. Xavier, Dayton, and Cincinnati typically host in late June to mid-July. D3 camps run through July, with some fall prospect days in September–October. The CSPID Columbus Showcase is typically in late June and is worth planning your trip around. Pro tip: The Columbus → Akron → Cleveland corridor is a natural 4-day camp road trip. Drive I-71 north from Columbus to Akron (1.5 hours) to Cleveland (45 minutes). Add a D3 stop in Delaware (Ohio Wesleyan, 30 minutes north of Columbus) for a 4-school, 4-day tour.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are the best college soccer ID camps in Ohio for 2026?
- The top-rated college soccer ID camps in Ohio include camps from Ohio State, Akron, Xavier, and more. See our full ranked list above, sorted by division level, upcoming dates, cost, and parent reviews.
- How do I choose the right ID camp in Ohio?
- Consider your recruiting level (D1 vs D3), budget, travel distance, and whether the head coach attends. Read parent reviews to learn which camps provide genuine recruiting exposure vs. large-group clinics with minimal coach interaction.
- Are third-party ID camps worth it?
- Third-party camps like Future 500, ID Sports USA, and College Soccer Prospect ID bring coaches from multiple schools to one location. They're efficient if you're exploring options across divisions. School-specific camps are better if you're targeting a particular program.
- How much do soccer ID camps in Ohio cost?
- Costs vary widely. Single-day clinics start around $125-$200. Multi-day residential camps at D1 programs can run $400-$800. Multi-school showcases typically cost $200-$400. Check individual camp listings for current pricing.
- Is the University of Akron men's soccer really that good?
- Yes — Akron men's soccer is one of the most successful mid-major programs in NCAA history. They've won the MAC title 10+ times, made multiple College Cup appearances, and produced MLS players including DeAndre Yedlin and Darlington Nagbe (who played nearby at Akron-area clubs). Their ID camps are among the most sought-after in the Midwest and regularly sell out.
- What youth soccer clubs in Ohio produce the most college players?
- Ohio has a deep youth soccer pipeline. Columbus Crew Academy, FC Cincinnati Academy, and Cleveland Force are the top ECNL/MLS NEXT clubs. Ohio Elite Soccer Academy, Ohio Premier, and Dayton Dutch Lions also develop college-bound players. The Ohio South and Ohio North state associations run active ODP programs that serve as additional recruiting pipelines.
