Best College Soccer ID Camps in New York 2026

The New York college soccer ID camps families ask us about most — ranked by division level, upcoming dates, parent reviews, and value. Updated weekly.

New York is a great state for serious camp planning because there are so many viable paths, but that depth can also bury families in options. The right camp for an Ivy-leaning player in the city is often completely different from the right camp for a recruit targeting upstate D3s or a mid-major in the Long Island corridor. We built this page to help make those distinctions clearer.

New York boasts the largest number of college soccer programs in the country with 180+ across all divisions. From Syracuse and St. John's to a massive D3 cluster, there's a program for every level of player. We track every ID camp, showcase, and combine across the state so families can compare options in one place instead of piecing together school pages one by one.

Why families trust this page

IDCampFinder is not just a list of school names. We try to give New York families something more useful: context about region, division, and trip efficiency, with a founder-led editorial layer on top of the database. That matters in a state where one camp weekend can involve real travel and real money.

How we rank camps

Our New York guide favors camps with stronger school/program alignment, useful schedule proximity, visible pricing, and review support when available. The rankings are editorial, not sponsored.

Founder perspective

John Hull built IDCampFinder after seeing how hard it was for recruiting families to compare camp options quickly and honestly. The goal is simple: clearer camp info, less wasted money, and fewer blind registrations.

Top Soccer Programs in New York by Division

Division I: Syracuse (ACC) is the flagship — both men's and women's programs compete at the highest level, with the men's team making deep NCAA tournament runs. St. John's (Big East) brings NYC energy and Big East competition. Columbia and Cornell (Ivy League) combine elite academics with competitive D1 soccer. Fordham, Hofstra, Stony Brook, and Binghamton round out the D1 landscape. Army West Point (Patriot League) offers a unique service academy path.

Division II: The Northeast-10 and ECC conferences house strong D2 programs. LIU Post, Adelphi, New York Tech, and Molloy offer D2 scholarships with proximity to the NYC metro. Le Moyne (recently transitioned to D1) and Daemen are additional options upstate.

Division III: New York has the largest D3 soccer cluster in the country — over 80 programs. The Liberty League (RPI, Vassar, RIT, Clarkson, St. Lawrence) and Empire 8 (St. John Fisher, Nazareth, Hartwick) are strong conferences. NYU, Rochester, Union, Ithaca, and Skidmore are nationally competitive. This is a D3 paradise for academic-focused recruits.

NAIA: Roberts Wesleyan and a handful of smaller programs compete in NAIA, offering flexible recruiting and scholarship opportunities.

New York Recruiting Regions

NYC Metro (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island): The most concentrated talent pool in the country. St. John's, Columbia, Fordham, LIU, Hofstra, and Stony Brook are all accessible by public transit or a short drive. NYC camps are convenient but pricey — factor in parking, lodging, and meals.

Upstate New York (Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo): Syracuse (ACC) is the anchor. Rochester, RIT, Nazareth, St. John Fisher, and Canisius offer a mix of D1 through D3. Less expensive than NYC, with a more relaxed camp environment. Cornell and Ithaca College are in the Finger Lakes region.

Hudson Valley & Capital Region (Albany, West Point, Poughkeepsie): Army, Marist, Vassar, and RPI are the key programs. This region bridges NYC and upstate, making it a natural stop on a multi-camp road trip.

Long Island: Hofstra, Stony Brook, Adelphi, Molloy, and LIU form a dense cluster. Long Island has one of the strongest youth soccer ecosystems in the country (Albertson SC, Massapequa SC, LIJSL). Many families combine a Hofstra camp with a Stony Brook visit in one trip.

How Much Do ID Camps Cost in New York?

New York camp costs vary dramatically by region. NYC-area D1 camps (Columbia, St. John's, Fordham) typically run $250–$450 for multi-day sessions, but lodging in the city can add $200+/night. Upstate D1 camps (Syracuse, Cornell) are more affordable at $200–$500 for residential camps including housing. D3 single-day clinics range from $75–$175 — NYU, Rochester, and Ithaca offer excellent value. Third-party showcases like the EDP College Showcase Series (various NJ/NY locations) run $250–$400 with 80+ colleges represented. Budget tip: Upstate camps offer the best value — Syracuse residential camps include meals and housing, and the cost of living in central NY is a fraction of the city.

Best Time to Attend ID Camps in New York

New York ID camps span a wider window than most states. June–July is peak season for D1 residential camps at Syracuse, Cornell, and Stony Brook. NYC-area programs (Columbia, St. John's, Fordham) often host winter clinics in January–February — a great option if you're visiting the city anyway. Spring prospect days (March–April) at D3 programs are increasingly popular. Pro tip for out-of-state families: Plan a "New York corridor" trip — fly into NYC, hit Columbia/Fordham/St. John's, then rent a car and drive to West Point → Marist → Syracuse → Cornell over 5–6 days. You'll see 6+ programs across 3 divisions. Register early for Syracuse camps — they consistently sell out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best college soccer ID camps in New York for 2026?
The top-rated college soccer ID camps in New York include camps from Syracuse, Columbia, St. John's, and more. See our full ranked list above, sorted by division level, upcoming dates, cost, and parent reviews.
How do I choose the right ID camp in New York?
Consider your recruiting level (D1 vs D3), budget, travel distance, and whether the head coach attends. Read parent reviews to learn which camps provide genuine recruiting exposure vs. large-group clinics with minimal coach interaction.
Are third-party ID camps worth it?
Third-party camps like Future 500, ID Sports USA, and College Soccer Prospect ID bring coaches from multiple schools to one location. They're efficient if you're exploring options across divisions. School-specific camps are better if you're targeting a particular program.
How much do soccer ID camps in New York cost?
Costs vary widely. Single-day clinics start around $125-$200. Multi-day residential camps at D1 programs can run $400-$800. Multi-school showcases typically cost $200-$400. Check individual camp listings for current pricing.
Is it better to attend camps in NYC or upstate New York?
It depends on your target schools and budget. NYC camps (Columbia, St. John's, Fordham) are convenient if you're already in the area, but travel costs are high. Upstate camps (Syracuse, Cornell, Rochester) offer better value with residential options that include housing and meals. Many serious recruits do both — NYC schools in winter/spring clinics and upstate residential camps in summer.
What youth soccer clubs in New York produce the most college players?
New York is loaded with elite youth clubs. NYC area: Manhattan SC, FC Westchester, World Class FC, and BW Gottschee. Long Island: Albertson SC, Massapequa SC, and LIJSL clubs. Upstate: Empire United and Syracuse Development Academy. The ECNL and MLS NEXT (NYCFC, Red Bulls) have major presence across the state.
