About This Camp

Texas State University hosts this women's Division 1 ID camp on June 6, 2026, a single day in San Marcos, Texas. The camp costs $170 and runs as a day event without overnight housing. It is organized by Steve Holeman Soccer Camps and draws recruits interested in evaluating fit with a Sun Belt Conference program.

This camp suits recruits exploring mid-level Division 1 opportunities, particularly those with realistic ambitions at a developing program. The single-day, non-residential format and the absence of head-coach attendance suggest this is an exposure event rather than an intensive recruiting evaluation. Families should view it as a low-pressure chance to see the program, facility, and coaching philosophy firsthand. There are no age or graduation-year bounds listed, so the camp likely welcomes a wide range of high school players, from rising sophomores to seniors.

Recruits should know upfront that the head coach does not attend this camp, meaning evaluation happens at the assistant level. At $170, the cost is modest for a college ID camp, making it an accessible option for families testing the waters. The single review on file notes the camp followed a standard structure of drills, small-sided games, a facility tour, and full-sided matches, plus a fitness component. Texas State competes in the Sun Belt, a mid-tier FBS conference, and the program is classified as developing, so competition and roster attention will reflect a non-elite recruiting environment.

This camp works best for families seeking affordable exposure to a public university program without the intensity or cost of elite-tier events. It's a reasonable fit if your daughter is exploring Division 1 options broadly or has genuine interest in Texas State and the Southland. Skip it if you're pursuing offer-stage recruiting at high-ranked programs. No registration deadline is listed, so contact the camp directly to confirm availability as the date approaches.

Camp was well organized. It followed the standard format of drills, small sided, facility tour, and full-sided games. They also had a running race to see who was the fastest.

* Heat in the afternoon for the 11v11 games. Not much you can do about that other than not attend in the summer.

Would recommendAttend if you are extremely interested in Texas State and/or have interest from coaches.
