About This Camp

Tarleton State University is hosting a women's Division 1 ID camp on July 26, 2026, in Stephenville, Texas. The camp runs a single day from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is open to players in grades 8–12. Cost is $106, making it one of the more affordable ID camp options. This is a day camp with no overnight component, so contact with coaching staff will be limited to the three-hour session.

This camp targets a broad age range across the middle and high school years. Because the host is a Division 1 program in the WAC conference, it appeals to recruits exploring D1 possibilities, though the wide grade span (8th–12th) suggests the event functions partly as an early-exposure opportunity for younger players and partly as an evaluation event for upperclassmen. Families considering this camp should understand that Tarleton State is a D1 program and will be evaluating talent, but the three-hour format and broad age range mean this is a lower-intensity introduction rather than an immersive recruiting showcase.

Prospective attendees should know that the head coach does not attend this camp, which means evaluation is handled by assistant staff rather than the decision-maker. The three-hour day format limits the coaching staff's ability to assess players under game-like conditions or in multiple settings. There are no prior reviews on file for this camp, so families won't find peer feedback to guide expectations. The $106 registration fee is reasonable for a day camp and represents solid value if the family is serious about exploring the school's interest level.

This camp works best for younger players (grades 8–10) getting an early look at a D1 program, or for upperclassmen who want a low-cost, low-commitment introduction to Tarleton State's roster needs. Families pursuing serious D1 recruitment should prioritize overnight camps or multi-day events where head coaches attend and extended playing time creates meaningful evaluation opportunities. If Tarleton is a genuine target school, this camp is worth the modest investment; if you're exploring options more broadly, a longer format elsewhere may yield better insight.

* Love that they have a turf field so that there are no rainouts * Followed the typical camp format with drills, small- and full-sided games. * Attended in November and had great weather

* Unlike other camps, players didn't get numbers or anything to identify them with. I question whether this was for recruiting or just making money. I don't think they knew who anyone was

Would not recommendI just think they're after attendees and money, at least that's my experience. Plus Stephenville is a far drive from the Austin area. Maybe if you have genuine interest from the coaches before hand it might be worth it.
