About This Camp

Texas State University's 2026 Girls July ID Camp is a one-day, daytime recruiting event for women's Division 1 soccer players, held July 11, 2026, in San Marcos, Texas. The camp costs $170 and is organized through Steve Holeman Soccer Camps. Texas State competes in the Sun Belt Conference.

This camp is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors exploring D1 college soccer fit, particularly those with genuine interest in Sun Belt-level programs. The event is best suited for recruits who see a realistic match with a developing D1 program in a strong conference. Families considering larger, public universities in Texas or the broader Southwest region will find this a relevant evaluation opportunity. The moderate academic profile of the school means recruits should also consider whether Texas State's academic offerings and selectivity align with their needs.

The head coach does not attend this camp, which means the evaluation is being conducted by assistant coaches or camp staff rather than the program's top decision-maker. For a one-day, non-overnight event, this is typical — you should expect structured on-field sessions and positional feedback, but less informal one-on-one coach contact than a residential camp would provide. At $170, this is a relatively affordable entry point into a D1 ID camp. No reviews are currently available for this specific event, so you won't find peer feedback on field quality, coaching intensity, or recruitment follow-up. Come prepared with game film and a clear sense of your position and recruiting priorities.

This camp works best for families seriously interested in D1 soccer at a Sun Belt school and comfortable with a day-camp format. If you are seeking head-coach evaluation or overnight immersion, this is not the right event. If you're testing the waters at a mid-tier D1 program without major travel, it offers reasonable value. No registration deadline is currently listed, so monitor the camp's website or contact Texas State directly for enrollment cutoff dates.

Camp was well organized. It followed the standard format of drills, small sided, facility tour, and full-sided games. They also had a running race to see who was the fastest.

* Heat in the afternoon for the 11v11 games. Not much you can do about that other than not attend in the summer.

Would recommendAttend if you are extremely interested in Texas State and/or have interest from coaches.
